Croatian national exhibition
Croatian past at the foot of the Alps
Permanent Croatian folklore exhibition from the collection of Lajos BrigovichThe first mention of Horvátzsidány - in the form of Terra Sydan - dates back to a document written in 1225. In 1533 Miklós Jurisics, captain of Kőszeg Castle was awarded with the title of Baronet, and was presented with the Castle of Kőszeg with the surrounding villages. Jurisics brought in settlers from his farmlands in Croatia who have managed to preserve their culture throughout the centuries and still claim to be the descendants of the brave captain.
