Cáki Pincesor / Row of Wine Cellars, Cák

The timber-walled and thatched-roofed wine cellars were not built to store wine, but rather chestnut and different fruits.

The timber-walled and thatched-roofed wine cellars standing in a neat queue in the village of Cák were erected in the early 19th century, and tend to have a single room only. They were used to store and press the grapes here; they made the wine in these cellars, which were later also used as storage rooms for chestnut and other fruits. The press machines put on display in the cellars are worth a visit, as some of them date back to as early as the 18th century.
